Achievements:

Dewhurst was a 3-year starter at KHS & team-leading tackler his sophomore year along with making 2 INTs, receiving all-district honorable mention & most valuable defensive back. After suffering ankle injuries his junior year, he finished the season with 2nd team all-district honors. He earned 1st team all-district, voted team’s most valuable defensive back & coaches’ dedication award his senior year. He made Texasprepxtra.com 2nd team All Greater Houston & played in Houston North/ South Blue-chip all-star game receiving Defensive MVP & played in the North/South Lone Star Bowl in League City. Dewhurst entered Texas Tech in the spring of 2007 for Spring Ball, red shirted in 2007 season, & played in every 2008 game on special teams as a red shirt freshman. Had big games against Nebraska & UT and was voted "hit of the game" as Texas Tech beat number 1 ranked Texas & contributed to Tech's first 11-win season & Big XII South Tri Champs. Tech will face Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl & Dewhurst will compete for the starting Safety spot in 2009 with 3 years of eligibility remaining.
