Achievements:

Gatlin lettered in both football & track and led the football team with 87 tackles, 3 fumble recoveries, and 7 sacks his senior year at KHS, before signing with Middle Tennessee where he was scheduled to red shirt, but he progressed so rapidly that he saw action as a true freshman. He moved from Will to Sam linebacker in the spring of 2001, won the “Best Conditioned Athlete” award after scoring a perfect 34 out of 34 points on the summer conditioning program, and was counted on for senior leadership in the 2002 season. Gatlin majored in computer information systems.
